So have you had those chats with other network marketing people saying stuff about getting leads from social media? Do you feel like everybody is doing it except you? Have you ever tried doing it?

Don’t worry. Most of us failed to see the power of social media in generating leads. For the ordinary man, social media is for… you know… socializing. But network marketing experts see it differently. For them, using social media for lead generation is one of the most effective and cheapest way to make connections and get conversions.

According to a report called the “Hubspot Inbound Marketing Annual Report”, social produces double the marketing leads compared to telemarketing, trade shows, PPC or direct mail.

So if you want to start a lead generation campaign on social media, you should do it now but do it properly. Don’t know where to start? I will list down 3 different ways you can use social media to that effect. It takes some practice and getting used to but I know once you get the hang of it, you’d be getting leads in no time.

#1: Twitter Chats

Twitter chats are like your ordinary group discussion although your “group” is basically the whole Twitter world. These chats use a certain hashtag that people can use to follow the chat and to chime in their thoughts.

You can either create your own Twitter chats for your brand if you already have a good community following you or you can join in on other Twitter chats if you are still starting in Twitter. Just make sure the topics are more or less related to your brand.
In order maneuver you way through Twitter chats, you should remember to be a good participant. You have to make the other participants that you really know what you are talking about and that you are an expert in the field.

After you have joined in on the discussion, research the people who interact with you. Are they potential customers? Create a connection with them. You can do this by tweeting with them outside of the Twitter chat and many more. When you think the time is right, you can send a direct message.

#2: Google+ Hangouts

Google Hangouts are an excellent way for you to “talk” to your audience online and also, it gives your brand a “face”. You should hold hangouts that focus on the things you offer as a brand and company. You should be able to showcase the value of your company to your viewers. You can conduct giveaways or contests, interviews, product demos, and customer service sessions on your hangouts. Just make sure you already know what you want to achieve with your hangout so you won’t lose track of your activity.

#3: LinkedIn Groups

Imagine a room full of people thinking of the same stuff and you can really be sure it will never be a silent room. This is the thing about LinkedIn groups that I like. LinkedIn groups is about connections with people with the same interests. This is the reason why more and more people are joining in and chiming in on different discussions.

You should treat this the same way you treat Twitter chats. Establish your expertise and connect with other people. Just make sure you provide essential stuff to the other people in the group so you will have some sort of “value” to them.
